City-owned Meridian Event Center to mark 15 years with public celebration
Festivities will include dinner, live music and reflections on the venue's local impact
NEWTON, Kan. — The city-owned Meridian Event Center will mark 15 years of hosting local gatherings with a public anniversary celebration July 18. The 6 p.m. event will feature an expanded dinner buffet prepared by in-house chefs and a live performance of blues, jazz, funk and classic rock by Wichita's George Sanders Blues Band. General admission tickets are $30, while a $50 upgraded ticket includes access to a pre-event cocktail hour, a drink ticket and a swag bag. Community members and businesses also can reserve a 10-person table for $750, which includes two bottles of wine and commemorative glasses for each attendee to take home.
Since opening July 21, 2011, the 15,000-square-foot facility has served as a central hub for Newton-area weddings, banquets, business meetings and conferences. General Manager Michael Parker said the anniversary program will feature a champagne toast and reflections honoring the employees, clients and partners who helped establish the venue over the past 15 years.
