NEWTON, Kan. — The city-owned Meridian Event Center will mark 15 years of hosting local gatherings with a public anniversary celebration July 18. The 6 p.m. event will feature an expanded dinner buffet prepared by in-house chefs and a live performance of blues, jazz, funk and classic rock by Wichita's George Sanders Blues Band. General admission tickets are $30, while a $50 upgraded ticket includes access to a pre-event cocktail hour, a drink ticket and a swag bag. Community members and businesses also can reserve a 10-person table for $750, which includes two bottles of wine and commemorative glasses for each attendee to take home.

Since opening July 21, 2011, the 15,000-square-foot facility has served as a central hub for Newton-area weddings, banquets, business meetings and conferences. General Manager Michael Parker said the anniversary program will feature a champagne toast and reflections honoring the employees, clients and partners who helped establish the venue over the past 15 years. "We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the community and making even more memories together," Parker said. Guests can book tickets at meridianeventcenter.com or by calling 316-284-3100.
