Citizen Journal Joins McPherson Chamber of Commerce
Digital media company expands local presence with chamber membership as readership grows to over 1,400 locally

MCPHERSON — Citizen Journal, a digital media company operating in five states and 23 cities, has joined the McPherson Chamber of Commerce as it continues to expand its local news coverage through "The McPherson Brief," published three times weekly to more than 1,400 readers in McPherson.
The company, co-founded by McPherson native Greg Loving and his father Jim Loving, focuses on covering local government meetings, school boards, sports and community news through a digital platform. Greg Loving serves as CEO and editor-in-chief of the publication, which distributes content through various channels, including an iOS and Android app that also allows users to submit local sports scores.
Loving, a 2008 McPherson High School graduate, brings diverse experience to the venture. After earning degrees in Chemical Engineering and Economics from the University of Kansas, he worked for ExxonMobil before completing an MBA at Harvard Business School and joining space company Blue Origin. He began covering news through a personal Substack in 2022 before launching Citizen Journal in early 2025.
The company aims to "rebundle" traditional newspaper content that has been fragmented by the internet over the past two decades. Operating as a free publication supported by local advertisers, Citizen Journal's Kansas platform recorded 250,000 views in June 2025, offering businesses the ability to advertise locally or target multiple locations statewide.
