Chamber Reports Strong Economic Growth for 2025
Tourism hits 3 million visitors while business projects promise 544 new jobs and $46 million investment.
MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce reported significant regional economic growth to the City Commission, highlighting 10 business projects announced in 2025 that are expected to create 544 jobs and bring $46 million in investment to the area. The annual report detailed progress across multiple sectors, including strong tourism numbers with more than 3 million visitors, continued workforce development through expanded programs like the KEEP Tour and MHK Summer Intern Program, and growing entrepreneurship support through Innovate 24, which has helped approve more than $1.5 million in small-business loans since 2024. The Chamber also noted advances in the Manhattan Growth Plan through housing initiatives, updated city incentive structures, new permitting software implementation, and strengthened partnerships between the city and Fort Riley, while workforce programs saw increased participation through collaborations with Manhattan Area Technical College, Kansas State University, and local employers.
