Chamber announces spring launch for McPherson bike share program; sponsors sought

MCPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and Tandem Mobility, announced plans to launch a community bike share program by early spring to address local transportation needs and wellness goals. The initiative, utilizing the KANCycle managed system, will initially deploy two to three racks with five bikes each, aiming to provide reliable mobility for non-drivers, students, and workers while increasing foot traffic for local businesses. While Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas is funding a significant portion of the five-year project, the Chamber is currently seeking local sponsors to cover a remaining $60,000 funding goal—equating to $12,000 annually—to finalize the effort to improve citywide accessibility.
