Caldwell Commercial Kitchen Opens During Community Event

The new commercial kitchen facility, located at 110 S Main Street in Caldwell, represents a collaborative effort between several agricultural and economic development organizations and will debut as part of the evening's festivities.

The project was made possible through partnerships with the Kansas Farm Bureau, NetWork Kansas, the K-State 105 Initiative, Border Queen Harvest Hub, Sumner County Economic Development and K-State Research and Extension Sumner County.

The "Stroll the Streets" event will showcase dozens of local businesses and organizations throughout downtown Caldwell. Participating venues include Home Lumber, Kanokla Downtown Store, Caldwell Pharmacy, Nostalgia Nook, Kolache Kitchen, Oliver + Main, Edigers, What In Carnation, Bluff Creek Distillery & 18 Acres Lounge, Suzy's Bakery & Coffee Shop, Border Queen Museum and The Roost.

Additional participants include Shooting Gallery, Hagar Acres Farm to Home, Creative Vibes Art Studio, Ghost Craft, Sugar Sisters, Chicken & Noodles, Joe B's Bar, Caldwell Workspace and the Border Queen Commercial Kitchen.

The evening will feature special activities including raffle basket sales with fall photo backdrops, a Caldwell Fire Association raffle at Joe B's, a CRMC pie sale for charity at Arch, and shortened hours at some businesses to accommodate the event.

A car cruise will begin at 5:30 p.m. as part of the evening's activities.

The Border Queen Commercial Kitchen is expected to serve local food entrepreneurs and agricultural producers by providing access to certified commercial kitchen space for food processing and preparation. Visitors can enter the facility through the Caldwell Workspace.

The community event provides an opportunity for residents to explore local businesses, visit the new commercial kitchen facility and meet representatives from the partner organizations involved in the project.
