Bullpups Wrestlers Sweep Dual Meets with Dominant Performances
McPherson defeats Rose Hill and Prairie Hills behind 11 undefeated varsity wrestlers
The McPherson Middle School wrestling team continued its impressive season with convincing victories over Rose Hill 64-27 and Prairie Hills 76-15 in dual meet action. The Bullpups demonstrated their depth and dominance across multiple weight classes, with 11 varsity wrestlers posting perfect 2-0 records on the evening.
Leading the charge for McPherson were Kaiden Brown, Eli Brown, Trace Dearing, Eli Barnett, Mark Montgomery, Gavin Williams, Gavin Montagne, Towns DeLaney, Diego Ibarra, and Maverick Mendoza, all of whom won both of their matches. The consistent performances from the varsity squad provided McPherson with a solid foundation throughout both duals, as the team outscored their opponents by a combined margin of 140-42. Dalton VanEaton, Tatem Schulz, Easton Gehring, Jordan Reno, and Zaybrieon Green each split their matches with 1-1 records, while Brendyn Nestor fell in both contests.
The junior varsity squad also contributed to McPherson's successful evening, with Caysen Huber leading the way with a 2-0 record. Eddie Koehn, Xavier Hartinger, and Bentley Pfeiff each earned victories in their lone matches of the night. The back-to-back wins continue to build momentum for the Bullpups wrestling program as they work toward the postseason.
