Bullpups Shine at Salina Middle School Invite
McPherson's seventh-grade girls claimed first place at the Salina Invitational on May 7.
SALINA, Kan. — McPherson's middle school track teams competed at the Salina Invitational on May 7, with the seventh-grade girls winning the overall team title, the eighth-grade girls finishing second, the seventh-grade boys taking second and the eighth-grade boys placing fourth. Seventh-grader Maleah Crawford led the way with a first-place high jump of 4 feet, 8 inches and a winning long jump of 15-1, while classmate Reese Kramer took first in the 1,600-meter run in 5:48.23 and first in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.80.
On the eighth-grade side, Finn Gilkey won the discus with a throw of 134-5, Elles Pavlovich took first in the long jump at 16-8, Noelle Schmidt claimed first in the high jump at 4-8 and the 1,600 in 6:03.40, Myiah Crawford-Dingman won the 100-meter hurdles in 18.49, Dax Prose won the seventh-grade boys 400 in 58.94, and the eighth-grade boys 4x100 relay team and the 8th-grade boys 4x400 relay team each earned first-place finishes with times of 47.49 and 3:53.10, respectively.
