Bullpups Girls Varsity Tennis Wins Goddard Quad

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity girls tennis team won the Goddard Quad on Saturday, finishing with 11 points to edge Goddard (8) and Maize South (5). McKenna Paul won the No. 2 singles division undefeated at 3-0, while the doubles teams of Avery Unruh/Quinn Liebl and Dragon Rodriguez/Lleyton Kuhn each went 3-0 to claim their respective divisions; Mayson Wiens finished 2-1 for second place at No. 1 singles. "Win or lose, those are exactly the types of matches we need right now," the coach said of the competitive No. 1 singles and doubles battles against Goddard, noting that mental toughness gained through tight matches will be critical heading into League, Regionals, and potentially State.
