Bullpups Girls Tennis Dominates Wellington Dual
McPherson middle school girls tennis rolls past Wellington, 13-2, in rescheduled dual.
WELLINGTON, Kan. — The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team dominated a rescheduled dual against Wellington on Sept. 22, winning 13-2 behind strong performances in both singles and doubles play. Audrey Pflughoeft, Halle Schneider, Karsen Greer, Mabel Jones, Alison Palacios, Lily Esping, Sam Corcoran and Stella Weimer each won their singles matches, while all five Bullpups doubles pairings picked up victories — including Greer and Jones, who rallied to win a first-set tiebreaker 6-5 (3) against Wellington's Emily Ast and Kelsie Pinkston. Coach Henry Weiner noted that Greer and Jones have both developed reliable serves, confident forehands and strong court movement over two seasons of dedicated practice, adding that he looks forward to seeing the team compete Thursday against Haysville West.
