Bullpups finish 5th at league swim meet
Adyson Wiens wins 100 freestyle, two relays earn third-place finishes.
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The McPherson girls varsity swimming team finished fifth with 160 points at the AVCTL league meet Saturday at the Hutchinson YMCA, led by Adyson Wiens' first-place finish in the 100 freestyle (58.99) and third-place finish in the 50 freestyle (26.83).
The Bullpups also earned third-place finishes in both the 200 medley relay (Zoe Busenitz, Kaylee Frank, Wiens, Mckenzie Dammann, 2:10.12) and 200 freestyle relay (Dammann, Frank, Busenitz, Wiens, 1:59.04), while the team of Busenitz, Frank, Wiens and Dammann posted a state-consideration time in the 200 medley relay and Ella Schrag earned a state-consideration mark in the 50 freestyle. Winfield won the team title with 444.5 points.
