MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity boys football team defeated Buhler 32-13 in a rivalry matchup Sept. 18, with the offensive line dominating the second half to secure the win. Running back Becker carried 34 times for 198 yards and a touchdown, while Bengtson added 76 yards and two scores on the ground and completed 17 of 22 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown; Malm hauled in nine catches for 81 yards and a score. McPherson led 15-6 at halftime, survived a Buhler touchdown drive to open the second half that cut the deficit to 15-13, then outscored the Crusaders 17-0 the rest of the way, with Hoover connecting on two field goals and Bengtson's dual-threat performance keeping the clock moving.
