Bullpups Boys Soccer Blanks Mulvane 5-0
McPherson dominated in the rain, scoring five unanswered goals.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity boys soccer team shut out Mulvane 5-0 Tuesday, with Jackson Martin and Yahir Valadez combining for four of the five goals. Martin opened the scoring on an assist from Kevin Garcia, Valadez doubled the lead with Martin assisting, and the two continued to trade roles in the second half as Valadez assisted on the third goal — an own goal — before setting up Mason Eisenbarth and Martin for the final two. Eisenbarth headed home a corner kick for his goal. Hunter Schroeder made one save to preserve the clean sheet on 13 shots faced. "Jackson and Yahir continue to work so well together," coach said. "They seem to have a great understanding of where the other is going to be in front of goal and have developed an impressive ability to find each other without even having to look up." In JV action, McPherson also won 4-0, with Trey Fiedler, Jameson Bowers, Aiden Pattison and Pedro Francisco each scoring; Malachi Griggs and Farzad Saifi each recorded an assist.
