Bullpups A-Team Dominates Early Season with Defensive Prowess
McPherson Middle School girls start 2-0 with commanding victories over Mulvane, Augusta
The McPherson Middle School girls basketball A-team opened their season with two resounding victories, defeating Mulvane 42-3 on November 3 and Augusta 44-3 on November 6, showcasing a suffocating defense that allowed just six total points across both games. Elles Pavlovich led the defensive charge with a remarkable 13 steals against Mulvane and added 8 more against Augusta, while contributing 7 and 18 points respectively. Kinsley Postier provided consistent scoring with 13 points in each contest while dominating the boards with 9 and 10 rebounds, and Mylee Cooke added 11 points against Mulvane and 5 against Augusta.
The Bullpups' defensive intensity has been the story of the early season under head coach Matt Sandbo, with multiple players recording impressive steal totals including Noelle Schmidt's 6 steals at Augusta. The B-team dropped their opener to Mulvane 26-16, with Anna Kahle leading the scoring effort with 8 points. Both squads travel to Rose Hill on November 10
