Bullpup Track Stars Shine at County Early Season Meet
McPherson boys and girls post multiple top-three finishes across track and field events.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson High School's varsity boys and girls track and field teams turned in a strong showing Thursday at the 2026 McPherson County Early Season meet, with Bullpup athletes claiming numerous top-three finishes against Hesston, Smoky Valley and Wamego.
On the boys side, Ashton Malm placed 2nd in the 200M, and won the 100 meters in 11.05 seconds with teammates Brody Hoffman (11.22) and Jayren Stutzman (11.28) sweeping the top three,B. Hoffman also placed 3rd in the 200M, while Caden Wenderott dominated the discus at 156 feet, 10 inches and James Fritzmeier captured the javelin title with a throw of 153-10. Caleb Muehler placed second in both the 800 (2:01.60) and 1,600 (4:29.31), and Dane Becker took third in the 400 at 53.89. Kinnick Anderson finished second in the triple jump at 40-6½, and the Bullpup 4x100 relay of Malm, Hoffman, Anderson and Stutzman ran 44.16 for second place.
On the girls side, Adri McLeod was a three-event standout, placing third in the 100 (13.28), second in the 200 (27.68) and first in the 400 (1:03.84), while Ellie Herrera won the high jump at 5-2 and Karsen Burris threw 115-5 for second in the javelin. Brynn Littlejohn added a second-place finish in the shot put (32-5) and a runner-up mark in the discus (102-1), Elley Paulson placed second in the 100M Hurdles, and Andi Buschbom took second in the long jump at 16-8 while anchoring the winning 4x100 relay team of Amara Dossett, Piper Solofra, Ella Wyssman that clocked 51.64.
