Seventh-grade girls claim first place as McPherson racks up top finishes across the board.

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups middle school boys and girls track teams posted strong results at their home meet April 16, with the seventh-grade girls taking first place, the eighth-grade boys finishing second, and both the eighth-grade girls and seventh-grade boys placing fourth.

First-place finishes highlighted the day, led by Reese Kramer winning the seventh-grade girls 1600-meter run in 5:51.69, Noelle Schmidt taking the eighth-grade girls 800 in 2:51.80, Elles Pavlovich claiming the eighth-grade girls long jump at 16-5.50, Lucy Redden winning the seventh-grade girls discus at 77-9, Reese Kramer capturing the seventh-grade girls 400 dash in 1:03.52, Noelle Schmidt winning the eighth-grade girls high jump at 4-8, Maleah Crawford posting a 13-8 in the seventh-grade girls long jump, Finn Gilkey taking the eighth-grade boys shot put at 41-2.5 and Xavier Hartinger clocking 11:34.84 in the eighth-grade boys 3200. Relay squads also delivered first-place efforts, including the eighth-grade boys 4x400 relay in 4:01.98, the seventh-grade girls 4x400 relay in 4:38.50, the eighth-grade girls 4x400 relay in 4:40.93, the seventh-grade girls 4x200 relay in 200.42, the seventh-grade girls medley relay in 2:12.84 and the eighth-grade boys medley relay in 4:12.82.

Second-place performances came from Dax Prose in the seventh-grade boys 400 dash (59.45), Adelade Schneider in the seventh-grade girls 800 (2:50.34), Cole Barkley and Kingston Slyter sharing 5-2 in the eighth-grade boys high jump, Maleah Crawford hitting 4-6 in the seventh-grade girls high jump, Finn Gilkey throwing 114-3 in the eighth-grade boys discus and the seventh-grade boys 4x100 relay clocking 52.99, while notable third-place finishes included Elles Pavlovich in the 100 dash (13.10), Connor Forsberg in the 400 dash (103.33), Cole Barkley in the 800 run (2:37.54), Adelade Schneider in the 1600 (6:03.09), Jensen Hoover in the 100 hurdles (16.90), Kayleigh Dilli in the 200 hurdles (33.40), Eli Barnett in the long jump (16-4), Cayson Harlin in the shot put (30-0), Elijah Slocum in the discus (86-5), Cali Melton in the high jump (4-6) and the eighth-grade boys 4x100 relay (49.53).
