Brush Up Mac 2026 has officially wrapped up, and the results speak for themselves.

Over the course of several weeks, volunteers from across McPherson came together to help senior homeowners with yard work, painting, and home repairs. Local corporations including PEM, Pfizer, Westlake Pipe, and Viega fielded teams in the early rounds, followed by churches, individuals, and — in the final stretch — student athletes from McPherson College.

The college's football team closed out this year's effort, with a special thanks to Angelina in the athletic department for coordinating both this week's football players and last week's cheerleaders. Their energy and willingness to serve were a fitting finish to a successful run.

And what a finish it was. The final house on the schedule belonged to a remarkable McPherson resident still going strong at 103 years young.
