Boys Varsity Tennis Takes First at Lyons Quad
McPherson claims three division titles, finishing atop four-team field.
LYONS, Kan. — The McPherson boys varsity tennis team won the Lyons High School quadrangular with 11 points, topping Meade (7), Lyons (4) and Fairfield (2) behind first-place finishes in three of four divisions.
Parker Riemann (No. 1 singles), Logan Allen (No. 2 singles) and the No. 2 doubles team of Bradon Holm and Derek Stucky each went 3-0 on the day. The No. 1 doubles pair of Holtyn Hamblin and Jacob Achilles finished 2-1, narrowly missing the division title after a three-way tiebreaker was decided by overall winning percentage, with Lyons edging them by 3 percent.
Aiden Pattison and Collin Tully also gained varsity experience, filling a spot for Fairfield in the No. 1 doubles draw.
