MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson boys junior varsity tennis team finished third with 18 points at the McPherson High School Invitational on a windy afternoon, while Derby claimed the team title with 27 points ahead of Buhler's 19. Holtyn Hamblin and Seth Turner went 4-0 at No. 2 doubles, grinding out a 6-5 victory over Derby in the championship match, and Collin Tully earned a runner-up finish at No. 2 singles after advancing out of pool play on winning percentage in a three-way tie. McPherson fielded two full teams and an extra doubles pair, giving 14 players match experience, with a McPherson White squad adding seven points for a sixth-place finish.
