County approves road-sealing agreement with Claflin

BARTON COUNTY, Kan. — Barton County will assist the city of Claflin with ongoing street maintenance following a cooperative agreement presented by County Works Director Chris Schartz. Under the arrangement, the county will provide labor and equipment to seal certain roads, with the county's services capped at $7,500 while the city of Claflin supplies the necessary road oil.


County to host Great Bend Chamber leadership lab

BARTON COUNTY, Kan. — Barton County is partnering with the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce to host the Run Ready Civic Leadership Lab on Wednesday, July 29, a one-day immersive program focusing on the role of public institutions. Participants are scheduled to visit the Barton County Courthouse between 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to meet directly with administrative staff and learn about local government operations.


Health department to feature on local radio broadcast

BARTON COUNTY, Kan. — Members of the Barton County Health Department are scheduled to be the featured guests on the county's regular Thursday "County Edition" broadcast at 11:05 a.m. on 1590 KVGB-AM and 95.5 FM. The ongoing public outreach segment allows county departments to share community updates and services directly with listeners in the Great Bend area.
