TOPEKA, Kan. — While lawmakers in the Statehouse focused on appointing committees to resolve legislative disputes, Gov. Laura Kelly's office announced major state and private investments across Kansas. The governor's press releases highlighted more than $19 million for 44 water infrastructure projects and a nearly $7.5 million private investment by a global technology company in Olathe.

The water funding, originating from a Senate bill, will support projects in communities and special districts across the state. In a separate announcement, Kelly celebrated the decision by Indra, a global air traffic management firm, to build a new facility in Olathe, a project expected to create 140 jobs.

The announcements serve as a contrast to the legislative process, allowing the Democratic governor to showcase tangible results and economic development wins achieved by her administration.
