Arkansas City to Host Veterans Day Parade Monday
ARKANSAS CITY — The Arkansas City Police Department will close a portion of Summit Street on Monday morning to accommodate the city's annual Veterans Day Parade.
Summit Street from Spruce Avenue to Madison Avenue will be closed from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for the parade, according to a police department announcement Friday. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes during that time.
The parade will honor those who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Veterans Day, observed Nov. 11, recognizes all military veterans who have served in the Armed Forces.
The police department encouraged residents to attend the parade to show support and thank veterans for their service and sacrifice.
