Arkansas City police seek public's help identifying person found dead inside residence

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — Arkansas City police are asking for the public's help identifying an individual found deceased inside a home on the city's south side, according to a Facebook post from the Arkansas City Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at approximately noon Tuesday, June 30, 2026, to a residence in the 400 block of S. 10th Street after receiving a report of a deceased individual, the department said. Officers and investigators responded to the scene and confirmed one person was dead.

Investigators processed the scene and conducted interviews as part of the ongoing investigation, according to the post.

The deceased was transported to the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center for a medical examination. The cause and manner of death will not be known until the autopsy is complete, the department said. Results are expected to help investigators determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, police said.
