Arkansas City Police Report 123 Violations During Click It or Ticket Campaign
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Arkansas City Police Department issued citations and warnings for more than 120 traffic violations during the annual Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign this spring, according to the department.
According to a June 8 post on the Arkansas City Police Department's official Facebook page (facebook.com/ArkCityPolice/posts/pfbid0uJ13gbk9XZPdCm9YV5aHVSXuE3YQ2WFGkaV3VJwFwgh9PqohRFmNTLvY4UBnwUckl), the department joined law enforcement agencies across the country in the campaign, which ran May 17 through June 1. Officers increased patrol efforts throughout the community to promote seat belt use and educate motorists about the importance of buckling up to prevent serious injuries and fatalities.
During the enforcement period, the department reported the following activity: 17 speeding citations, 23 seat belt violations, 2 citations for texting while driving, 37 hazardous moving violations, 43 other traffic violations and 1 arrest for driving with a suspended license.
The Click It or Ticket campaign is a national initiative that emphasizes seat belt use as one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce traffic fatalities. The Arkansas City Police Department encouraged all drivers and passengers to buckle up on every trip.
