Arkansas City Police Officer Recognized as VFW State Officer of the Year Nominee
ARKANSAS CITY — Police Officer Hailey Ladner was recognized during the Feb. 3 City Commission meeting for her nomination as the Veterans of Foreign Wars State of Kansas Officer of the Year.
Michael Bohlander of VFW POST 1254 Arkansas City presented Ladner with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her nomination for the VFW State of Kansas Officer of the Year Award.
Ladner was nominated through the Veterans of Foreign Wars State of Kansas Officer of the Year program, which recognizes law enforcement professionals whose service, dedication and performance stand out among their peers.
"A proud moment for our community. Congratulations, Officer Ladner, and thank you for your service to Arkansas City," the police department said in a statement.
A photograph shared by the department showed Ladner, in uniform, standing alongside Bohlander as she held her certificate of appreciation.
The VFW Officer of the Year program honors law enforcement officers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to public safety and community service. Nominations are submitted by local VFW posts and reviewed at the state level.
