Arkansas City Police Department Honors Top Officers at 4th Annual Awards Banquet
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Arkansas City Police Department held its 4th Annual Awards Banquet last week, recognizing officers and staff for their dedication and service to the community.
Three major awards were presented during the evening. Sgt. John Merz was named Supervisor of the Year, Officer Hailey Ladner was named Officer of the Year and Records Specialist Shanelle Parks was named Civilian of the Year.
"These three represent leadership, dedication, and a true commitment to our department and community," the department said. "We're incredibly proud of them and grateful for everything they do."
Additional awards were presented throughout the evening, with recipients to be highlighted in the department's social media posts.
The department described the annual banquet as an opportunity to recognize the work that takes place both on and off the street.
"Policing isn't just a job — it's a commitment to serve, protect, and show up when people need it most," the department said. "Nights like this give us the chance to slow down for a moment and celebrate the people behind the badge and behind the scenes who make it all happen."
