Arkansas City Officer Saves 6-Week-Old Baby's Life with CPR
Master Police Officer Shannese McIntosh's quick response helped save Baby Nova Raie, who later visited the department with her mother to thank her rescuer.
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — Master Police Officer Shannese McIntosh is being praised for her life-saving actions after performing CPR on an unresponsive 6-week-old baby on Nov. 12. McIntosh responded to a call about Baby Nova Raie, who wasn't breathing and had no pulse, immediately administering CPR at the scene before the infant was transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center and later flown to Wichita for additional care. After her recovery and release from the hospital, Baby Nova and her mother visited the Arkansas City Police Department to personally thank McIntosh for her quick response and compassion. "Her actions made a profound difference, and we are incredibly proud to have her on our team," the department said in recognizing McIntosh for her outstanding work and bravery.
