Arkansas City Man Arrested on Drug, Alcohol Charges Following Traffic Stop
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — An Arkansas City man was arrested on drug and alcohol charges late April 24 after a traffic stop in the 3400 block of North Summit Street led to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
An Arkansas City Police officer stopped a 2012 Kia Soul at approximately 11:45 p.m. and upon making contact with the driver detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
During the investigation, officers located marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver was also found to have multiple prior convictions related to marijuana possession.
Felix Canas, 37, of Arkansas City, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting an open container of alcohol. He was transported to the Cowley County Jail and held on a $3,800 bond.
