Arkansas City Fire/EMS Responds to Mobile Home Fire with Reported Explosion

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — Arkansas City Fire/EMS responded to a structure fire in the area of East Walnut Avenue and North C Street at 8:11 a.m. Friday after a small explosion was reported inside a mobile home.

Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke coming from the residence and quickly worked to assess the situation and bring the scene under control.

One occupant was present at the time of the incident and was evaluated on scene for minor injuries. No transport was required.

The cause of the explosion is currently undetermined. The cause of the fire and explosion remains under investigation.
