Arkansas City completes 2024 hazard mitigation progress report
ARKANSAS CITY — The City of Arkansas City has completed its annual progress report for the 2024 Kansas Region G Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The report highlights flood mitigation and drainage work completed this year, including continued participation in the National Flood Insurance Program, drainage ditch maintenance, canal cleanouts and flood pump repairs. Photos showing this work are included in the report and are also available on the city's website.
The update is a routine annual requirement connected to the previously adopted hazard mitigation plan and does not involve adopting a new plan.
