Arkansas City Accepting Applications for Home Repair Grant Program Through April 24

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The City of Arkansas City is reminding residents that the Community Development Block Grant Housing Rehabilitation Grant program is still open and accepting applications, with priority given to those submitted by April 24.

The program provides financial assistance to income-qualified homeowners for essential home repairs. Eligible applicants may receive up to $25,000 through the city's CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Program to address health and safety needs, including roofing, plumbing, electrical and accessibility improvements.

The program is available to low-to-moderate income households within the Arkansas City limits. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

"This program is a great opportunity for homeowners to make needed repairs that might otherwise be out of reach," said Josh White, Community Development Director for the City of Arkansas City. "We encourage anyone who may qualify to take a look at the program and apply before the deadline."

In March, the city hosted an informational meeting in partnership with the South Central Kansas Economic Development District. Megan Unruh, SCKEDD Grant Administrator, shared details about the program, including eligibility requirements and the application process. A full presentation is available on the City of Arkansas City's YouTube channel.

Applications are available online at t.ly/9XVA8. For more information or assistance with the application process, contact the City of Arkansas City Community Development Division at 620-441-4420.
