Ark City Fire/EMS to Hold Second Annual Holiday Toy Drive

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Arkansas City Fire/EMS Department will host its second annual Holiday Toy Drive on Dec. 6, collecting new, unwrapped toys to benefit children in foster care.

The toy collection event, called "Fill the Ambulance," will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ace Hardware, 2013 N. Summit St.

The department is partnering with TFI: The Family Initiative to fill an ambulance with donations that will help brighten the holiday season for local children and families in the foster care system.

Organizers are accepting new, unwrapped toys for children ages newborn to 12. Requested items include bricks, dinosaurs, remote control cars, science kits, baby dolls, Barbies and sensory toys such as playdoh, finger paint and fidget toys.

The department is also accepting new clothes in sizes newborn to adult large, especially hoodies and sweatpants. Socks are particularly needed.
