American Legion Riders Post 24 Launch Veterans Appreciation Raffle in Honor of America's 250th Anniversary

Annual hamburger feed gives way to a new tradition — just 700 raffle tickets available with four prize packages up for grabs.

McPHERSON, Kan. — The American Legion Riders Post 24 are shaking things up this year. In place of their longtime hamburger feed, the group is launching a Veterans Appreciation Raffle in celebration of America's 250th anniversary of freedom.

Only 700 tickets will be sold, and they go on sale Friday, May 8 — with sales kicking off right after the parade. Anyone who doesn't catch the Riders there can purchase tickets from any ALR member in the weeks that follow. The drawing will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, and winners need not be present.

Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five, and winners get to choose from four prize packages: a $250 Chamber check, a $250 Walmart gift card, a BBQ bundle featuring a $200 gift card to Canton Lockers and a BBQ tools set from Ace Hardware, or a Turkey Creek golf package that includes two rounds with cart rentals plus gift cards to Ellinwood Packing Plant and The Market at Little River.

All proceeds benefit American Legion Riders Post 24 and veterans programs. It's a new way to support an enduring mission — honoring and serving those who served us.
