Commission approves intent to exceed revenue neutral rate in split vote
ABILENE, Kan. — The Abilene City Commission approved a resolution of intent to exceed the revenue neutral rate for the 2027 budget during a special meeting July 15. The resolution passed in a 3-1 split vote, directing Interim City Manager Jon Quinday to officially notify Dickinson County Clerk Jennifer Gaytan of the city's intent. Mayor Brandon Rein cast the lone dissenting vote, while Vice Mayor Cy Taylor and Commissioners Debbie Lytle and Amy Meysenberg voted in favor of the resolution. Commissioner John Kollhoff was absent from the meeting.
