911 Center Restored After 5-Hour Power Outage

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson County 911 center resumed normal operations Wednesday afternoon after a five-hour power outage that began around 10 a.m. forced emergency calls to be rerouted to Saline County dispatchers. During the outage, McPherson Police Department provided their command trailer as a backup dispatch center while county IT staff, maintenance crews, Hedlund Electric, Ka-Comm, and McPherson Board of Public Utilities worked to restore power. County officials praised the quick response from all agencies involved and thanked Salina 911 for handling emergency calls during the disruption, as well as local dispatchers for maintaining smooth operations throughout the incident.
