1. Board Approves Raises for District Staff

MOUNDRIDGE - In a special meeting on July 31, 2025, the Moundridge USD 423 Board of Education unanimously approved pay increases for all district staff for the 2025–26 school year. Classified hourly and salaried staff will see a 5% raise. The board also approved a 3.62% raise for district administrators and set the certified base salary at $41,500. These decisions were made during a special session and passed with a 6/0 vote.


2. Public Hearing for 2025–26 School Budget and Tax Rate Set

MOUNDRIDGE - The Moundridge USD 423 Board of Education has scheduled the public hearings for the 2025–26 school budget. The hearing for the Revenue Neutral Rate will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 7:00 a.m., immediately followed by the budget hearing at 7:05 a.m. Both will take place in the USD 423 Board Room. This provides an opportunity for public input on the district’s financial plans for the upcoming school year.


3. Classified Staff Handbook Approved Despite Opposition

MOUNDRIDGE - The Board of Education approved the Classified Handbook for the 2025–2026 school year, but the decision was not unanimous. The motion, made by Kyle Neufeld and seconded by Dwight Goering, passed with a 6/1 roll call vote.


4. New Hires for Band, Choir, and Custodial Staff

MOUNDRIDGE - Several new faces will be joining Moundridge schools for the 2025–2026 school year. The Board of Education approved the hiring of Tammy Fast as the 7–12th Grade Choir Teacher and Aaron Begnoche as the 5–12th Grade Band Instructor. Additionally, Lavon Martin was hired as a custodian and substitute bus driver. The motion to approve these hirings passed unanimously.


5. Board Elects Leadership and Makes Key Appointments

MOUNDRIDGE - During its July 14 meeting, the Board of Education elected its leadership for the 2025–2026 school year. Michael Beasley will continue as Board President, and Craig Galle was elected Vice-President. Numerous appointments were also made, including designating Shelby Graber as Clerk of the Board and Cody Rierson as the administrator for various federal programs. Dwight Goering will serve as the KASB Governmental Relations Representative.
