# Winfield High School to Host MLK Day Cinema Event

WINFIELD, Kan. — Winfield High School will mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a documentary screening and community discussion Sunday.

The school's library is sponsoring a Cinema & Conversation event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 18\. The free event is open to high school students and community adults.

The program will feature a viewing of "Lynching Postcards: Token of a Great Day," a documentary about civil rights in America. Desserts and a guided group discussion will follow the screening.

The annual event aims to foster dialogue about civil rights and social justice issues in observance of the federal holiday honoring King, the civil rights leader who was assassinated in 1968.

Winfield High School is located in Cowley County in south-central Kansas. Winfield USD 465 serves approximately 1,400 students.
