### Downtown business approved for building preservation grant

WINFIELD, Kan. - The Winfield City Commission finalized a grant award for Marquee LLC through the 2025 Downtown Building Preservation Grant Program. Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to execute the necessary documents with the business. City Manager Taggart Wall noted the agreement finalizes the city's financial commitment to help preserve and revitalize the downtown commercial property at 1005 Main Street.

### Rejuvv Medical Spa secures downtown preservation funding

WINFIELD, Kan. - Rejuvv Medical Spa will also receive funds from the 2025 Downtown Building Preservation Grant Program following a unanimous vote by the city commission on Monday. The approved resolution finalizes a grant agreement between the city and the business, continuing Winfield's ongoing efforts to revitalize and maintain its downtown commercial district. Commissioners voted to authorize the necessary documents.

### City inks deal for relocated outdoor basketball court

WINFIELD, Kan. - An outdoor basketball court will be installed following the Winfield City Commission's approval of a new contractor agreement. City Manager Taggart Wall told commissioners the resolution authorizes a contract with Wichita-based Mid-American Courtworks to complete the installation of the relocated community court. The measure passed without opposition.

### Two police sergeants honored with life-saving awards

WINFIELD, Kan. - Sergeants Ted Shinneman and Daniel Porter were formally recognized with Life-Saving Awards during Monday's city commission meeting. Police Chief Robbie DeLong introduced Shinneman and Porter and presented the honors before the commission. The awards publicly highlight the officers' critical, life-saving interventions in the line of duty.

### Police department welcomes new officers, promotes three

WINFIELD, Kan. - The police department expanded its ranks and marked internal promotions on Monday. The city clerk administered the oath of office to two new officers, Micheal Yzquierdo and Anthony Rider. Police Chief Robbie DeLong also announced the promotions of three officers, Kevyn Ternes, Wade Hammond, and Kelsey Horinek, to the rank of master police officer.
