The city said in a Facebook post Monday, Aug. 17, that the centerpiece water feature at McPherson's pollinator garden — behind Fire Station No. 1 on Kansas Avenue, next to the Challenger Park pickleball complex — is flowing. The post said, “The sound of running water will add such a peaceful element to the garden, and it’s exciting to watch this space continue to take shape.”

Citizen Journal [reported in February that the butterfly-shaped garden was taking root](https://www.citizenjournal.us/butterfly-shaped-pollinator-garden-taking-root-in-challenger-park/) at Challenger Park. The city's post does not say when the garden will be complete or whether visitors can walk in.
