# Upcoming Fort Riley Boulevard closures to disrupt traffic as new school schedules begin

Manhattan motorists will face significant traffic delays along Fort Riley Boulevard next week as crews tackle multiple infrastructure projects. Starting early Monday, Aug. 24, the city will close the outside westbound lane between Fourth and Fifth streets to repair a sinkhole and replace concrete panels. That repair is expected to last up to two weeks, depending on weather and excavated subsurface conditions.

Further west, the Kansas Department of Transportation will install traffic control devices for a six- to eight-month pedestrian safety project along the highway's K-18 corridor.
