The Cedars will open two programs to the McPherson community this month: a Tanzania photo-safari presentation Tuesday, Oct. 13, and a decluttering talk Friday, Oct. 23, both in its Event Center.

At 7 p.m. Oct. 13, Jim Griggs will present "Trip to Tanzania," showing pictures of the Serengeti Ecosystem, where he and Cindy Griggs, both McPherson residents, led a photo safari. The couple has traveled to Tanzania at least three times, and Griggs and his crew of photographers spent hours watching different animals and photographing them in their natural habitats.

Kate Mast, owner of the Wichita-based company Soft Spaces, will present "Making Space for What Matters" at 3:00 Oct. 23, though the announcement does not specify a.m. or p.m.

Mast is a clean-out coach who helps people clear out areas in their home or life that feel stuck or emotionally charged. She will share stories, practical tips and strategies for decluttering and downsizing, and attendees are invited to bring questions that might help others in the group.
