MILAN, Kan. — The Sumner County Main Street Alliance will hold its first training event Dec. 11 at Diamond Springs Venue in Milan.

The daylong session, scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will provide training and resources for communities participating in a countywide Main Street initiative. Sumner County has been selected as a pilot program supporting the cities of Argonia, Belle Plaine, Caldwell, Conway Springs, Oxford and South Haven.

The training agenda includes introductions, a county-wide pilot project overview, an introduction to Main Street concepts, lunch, promotion and design team presentations, annual training requirements, economic impact data reporting requirements, and a question-and-answer session.

The program aims to coordinate tools, training and resources to strengthen each community's downtown while working as one county team.

Seating is limited. Those interested in attending should RSVP to Jessica Ricke at [jricke@co.sumner.ks.us](mailto:jricke@co.sumner.ks.us) or call (620) 845-6779.

The event is hosted by the Sumner County Economic Development Commission.
