The South Hutchinson Police Department will host its annual Trunk-or-Treat from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10 E Blanchard, and is asking businesses to email now for a trunk spot.

The city's news release describes an evening of decorated trunks, jack-o'-lanterns, lights and candy, and says the event is a safe, family-friendly way to mark the holiday. The department calls the Trunk-or-Treat an annual tradition, but the release does not say what year it started.

The release, published Aug. 28, tells interested businesses how to sign up: "Please email Officer Ryan at tristenr@southhutchinson.gov to let us know you're interested, and we'll confirm whether space is available and event details." The release sets no deadline for responses and does not say how many trunks the site can hold.

The event is open to families of all ages, and costumes are welcome but not required to attend. It joins a set of business- and volunteer-supported South Hutchinson traditions, including the 25th annual holiday UTV charity ride announced in September 2025.
