# Smoky Valley board sets construction delivery method for bond projects

LINDSBORG, Kan. — The Smoky Valley USD 400 board voted 7-0 on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, to use the construction-manager-at-risk delivery method for the projects funded by the bond issue voters approved days earlier. Under that method, a construction manager is brought on early, during design, and guarantees a maximum price for the work. It was the board's first contracting decision on the building program.

Voters approved the district's $21 million bond issue in early August 2026\. In his superintendent's report at the same meeting, Superintendent Quentin Breese told the board, “We’ve successfully passed a Bond- thank you to everyone who joined committees and helped.”

Breese also reviewed new communication platforms, and the board voted 7-0 to adopt Parent Square, SeeSaw and Google Classroom for communicating with students and parents.
