SALINA, Kan. — Voters in Saline, Reno, Harvey and Ellis counties backed Republicans for U.S. Senate, governor and attorney general Tuesday even as Democrats won or led all three races statewide, according to final unofficial election-night counts from the four counties.

Sen. Roger Marshall, who lost statewide to Democrat Adam Hamilton, carried Ellis County with 61%, Reno and Saline counties with 56% and Harvey County with 51%, his narrowest margin of the four at 6,927 votes to 6,379\. Republican Ty Masterson and Attorney General Kris Kobach ran a few points ahead of Marshall in each county, while Democrats Cindy Holscher and Chris Mann held narrow statewide leads Wednesday morning in races too close to call.

U.S. Rep. Tracey Mann, R-Salina, won a fourth term in the 1st District with 59% to 38% for Democrat Lauren Reinhold of Lawrence. He ran stronger at home than district-wide, taking 62% in Saline County, 62% in Reno County and 68% in Ellis County.

Harvey County, which sits in the 4th District, gave U.S. Rep. Ron Estes, R-Wichita, 56% over Democrat Katy Tyndell. Estes won a sixth term with 54% district-wide, down from a 30.1-point margin in 2024.

Hutchinson produced the region's only legislative flip. Democrat Jason Probst unseated Rep. Kyler Sweely, R-Hutchinson, in House District 102, 3,033 votes to 2,681, or 53% to 47%, reversing Sweely's 52% to 48% win over Probst in 2024\. The seat was one of 20 Democratic pickups that gave Republicans a 68-57 House majority next session and ended the two-thirds supermajority they had used to override vetoes.

Republicans held the area's other seats. Reno County Commissioner Randy Parks won the open House District 104 seat of retiring Rep. Paul Waggoner with 61% district-wide over Democrat Lynnette Krieger-Zook. In Salina, former Mayor Luci Larson won House District 69 with 64% after Rep. Clarke Sanders withdrew in September for health reasons, and Rep. Steven Howe, R-Salina, took 63% in District 71.

Rep. Avery Anderson, R-Newton, survived the closest race of the four cities. In House District 72, he led Democrat Matthew Smith 4,297 to 3,983 in Harvey County and 54% to 46% district-wide. Rep. Barb Wasinger, R-Hays, won District 111 with 64%.

Hutchinson voters rejected a $36 million bond for USD 308, 4,769 to 4,639, the district's second bond defeat in a year after a school bond lost in November 2025.

In Saline County, Republican Sharon Callabresi edged independent James Bowden 1,520 to 1,378 for the open District 1 commission seat, according to the county's summary report.

Republican Mike Sullivan won Parks' Reno County commission seat with 64%, and Harvey County Commissioner Becky Reimer held District 1 with 56%. The constitutional amendment limiting voting to U.S. citizens passed with 62% in Harvey County, 69% in Reno County and 73% in Ellis County.

Turnout reached 61% in Saline County and about 52% in Reno and Ellis counties. Results are unofficial until county canvasses Nov. 10, with about 175 provisional ballots outstanding in Ellis County and 266 in Harvey County.
