The closure has no set end date. A separate nearby span — Lake Cable Road between Victory Road and Haven Road — was also closed beginning April 8, 2026, for bridge replacement, making it the second bridge closure in the immediate area within two weeks.

The back-to-back shutdowns are part of a broader county infrastructure effort. Reno County Public Works has noted that road and bridge closing schedules are subject to change without further notice.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. No detour has been officially posted by the county at this time. For updates, residents can visit renogov.org or follow the Reno County, Kansas – Government Facebook page.
