# Rain Cuts Short Bullpups' Home Tennis Invitational

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team hosted its invitational tournament Tuesday, Sept. 29, with several players turning in standout performances before rain ended competition around noon. The doubles team of Karsen Greer and Mabel Jones went 4-0, Audrey Pflughoeft and Sloan Shober finished 3-0, and Addie Schneider survived a marathon tiebreak — 14-12 — to go 2-1 in No. 1 singles, while Paityn Behrens, Aly Jo Rausch and Elsie Walters each earned wins against top competition from Prairie Hills in the No. 1 division. No team points were calculated due to the weather-shortened event, but coach Henry Weiner said the results position several Bullpups well heading into the league tournament next week.
