# Railroad crossing on East Avenue G to close for weeks-long repairs

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Motorists in Hutchinson will need to navigate a detour starting next week as a local railroad crossing shuts down for a nearly three-week repair project.

The East Avenue G crossing is scheduled to close at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3\. Siemens will conduct the crossing repairs, while Hutchinson city crews will provide traffic control throughout the project.

During the closure, drivers will be directed along a posted detour routing traffic south on Airport Road to Enterprise Drive, then north on Commerce Street before reconnecting with East Avenue G. The city has provided a detour map for reference.

The crossing is expected to reopen to traffic on Tuesday, Aug. 25\. However, city officials noted the timeline could shift depending on weather and construction conditions.
