A pedestrian died Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a train in eastern Reno County, authorities said. Deputies, the Kansas Highway Patrol and Burrton Fire and EMS responded to the collision around 3:38 p.m. just north of Highway 50 on Rayl Road, where the person was pronounced dead at the scene. The Reno County Sheriff's Office offered its condolences to the family and declined to identify the person or release further details about the loss.
