# Newton streets scheduled for slurry seal closures starting Tuesday

NEWTON, Kan. — Several Newton streets will close for eight to 10 hours at a time starting Tuesday, July 21, as city crews apply a new slurry seal surface.

The resurfacing project, running through Thursday, July 23, will affect portions of [Plum, Poplar and Southwest Second](https://www.citizenjournal.us/newton-announces-street-closures-for-slurry-seal-project/) streets, along with Cherry Hill Drive. Daily work will begin at 7 a.m.

Residents must move parked vehicles off the scheduled routes before the closures to avoid being towed at their own expense.
