# Newton streets face daily closures for slurry seal resurfacing

NEWTON, Kan. — Several local residential streets will close for eight to 10 hours starting Tuesday, July 28, as the city's Street Division begins three days of slurry seal applications.

Work begins at 7 a.m. daily. Crews will start on portions of [Cottonwood Hill Drive and Poplar Street](https://www.citizenjournal.us/newton-streets-scheduled-for-slurry-seal-closures-starting-tuesday/) on Tuesday, July 28, followed by Split Oak Drive on Wednesday, July 29, and Lazy Creek Drive on Thursday, July 30.

Affected residents will receive front-door notices one business day in advance. The city warns that any vehicles left on the streets during closures may be towed at the owner's expense.
